About Us
Saddleback Outdoor Patio Furniture Repair and Refinish was established in 1996. The company I worked for at that time occasionally needed refinishing services for several properties we owned.  When I contracted with the local companies they all seemed very impersonable and they took over 6 weeks to complete an order. I thought this was terrible customer service and saw room for another company to compete in the Orange County market. My goal was to provide half the turn-around time, save the customer considerable money, and personally meet every client (how often do you ever meet the owner of a business these days?). Since our inception I can confidently say I have met all my goals and had 1000’s of satisfied customers.
Types of Furniture: There are 3 main categories of furniture and all have metal frames
1.       Sling furniture: Sling furniture consists of a metal frame and has a heavy duty fabric that inserts into a channel on each side of the chair. It looks like a fairly simple process to remove the material and install new slings. Looks can be very deceiving. The fabric is under enormous tension so it will fit properly and not sag when someone sits in it. It is not uncommon to use over 30 tools to replace the sling and is a 2 person job. Many people are not familiar with the term sling and frequently call it mesh, canvas, plastic, fabric, sunbrella, or vinyl material. Sling furniture styles consist of chairs, swivel rockers, ottomans, and chaise lounges.

2.       Strap furniture:   Strap furniture consists of vinyl straps. This was the most common form of furniture until the mid 1990’s. There are several styles of strap furniture. They include horizontal strap, basket weave which runs horizontal and vertical, and crisscross which forms a diamond pattern also know at tami-ami. Strap furniture typically comes in ½”, 1.5”, and 2” width. Many people find this style very comfortable because it will conform to your body when you sit on it.
Common styles are chairs, swivel rockers, ottomans, and chaise lounges.

3.       Cast aluminum or steel furniture: This style is normally solid metal and is very heavy. Many people use cushions to make it more comfortable. One disadvantage to steel furniture is it will inevitably rust. Sometimes it is necessary to primer cast steel furniture. It comes in the same styles mentioned above.
